Eliminate Head Lice with This Simple, Safe and Natural Remedy

Eliminate Head Lice with This Simple, Safe and Natural Remedy

Lice tend to be a common issue amongst school childrenThis tiny, wingless insect lives on human hairs and feeds on tiny amounts of blood taken from the scalp. Girls get head lice more often than boys .If you are tired of spending a fortune on head lice shampoos and you want a healthier alternative, give the information below a shot. You will be glad you did.

  • Listerine mouthwash (off-brands work just fine as well)
  • White vinegar
  • Shower cap or plastic bags from the grocery store
  • A couple towels
  • Shampoo
  • Lice comb

Douse your child’s head with as much Listerine as needed to completely wet their
head.Once their head is completely drenched, gather their hair and put a plastic grocery bag, or shower cap, over it and leave it sit for at least an hour.
After enough time has passed, carefully remove the bags. You might be surprised at how many dead head lice are in the bags.
Carefully rinse the mouthwash from their hair. Douse their head with the white vinegar. Reapply the bags again. Let it sit for another hour.
After an hour, take the bags off carefully. Rinse the vinegar from their hair. Shampoo as normal.
Once done, comb their hair using the lice comb. The vinegar helps to loosen the glue on the eggs, so that way you can easily comb them out .
Lice especially don’t like the smell of spearmint, so you can put a bit of Listerine in a spray bottle with some water and spray your little one’s hair before they head to school.
Not only will your kids be protected, but their hair will be smooth, shiny and great-smelling. Give it a try; you won’t be disappointed.

    Folding T-Shirts In Horizontal Rows

31 Clothing Tips Everyone Should Know

THE COUNTLESS USES FOR BAKING SODA (BESIDES BAKING)!
here is a list of USES FOR BAKING SODA that I have compiled     from various websites and comments on websites. Thank you everyone  who has contributed to these ideas!
    • Clean and remove marks (even crayon!) from walls and painted furniture by applying to a damp sponge and rubbing lightly. Wipe off with a clean, dry cloth.

    • Many people use baking soda as a “shampoo” and LOVE it.   Just add about a tablespoon to a normal-sized dollop of your shampoo and and apply to wet hair in the shower. It will be very foamy. Rinse, condition, and style as usual.

    • Keep kitchen and bathroom trash cans fresh-smelling by adding a sprinkle of Baking Soda regularly .

    • Before putting on self-tanner, remove dead skin cells with a paste of baking soda and water. It will leave your skin soft and smooth, perfect for applying that “glow”. (Make a paste of 3 parts  Baking Soda to 1 part water. Rub in a gentle circular motion to exfoliate the skin. Rinse clean.)

    •  ….every couple of months sprinkle a mixture of baking soda and a tablespoon of your favorite fabric softener over your mattress, let it sit for an hour, and then vacuum it up. Gets rid of dust mites and freshens up the mattress. Keep that same mixture in a small mason jar with holes poked in the top in your linen or clothes closet to keep it smelling fresh!

    • After cleaning your coffee pot with white vinegar (add one cup of vinegar and enough water to fill the pot and let it run through a coffee-making cycle), put baking soda in your sink drain and then pour vinegar in and quickly put the stoppers in. It will bubble and foam and eat away at food deposits. It works a like a charm and no waste!
    • When cooking green veggies, add a dash or two to the water and then bring to a boil as usual. It helps them stay green.

    • For a great tile grout cleaner, mix baking soda and hydrogen peroxide into a paste, and scrub the grout with the paste and a toothbrush.

Freshen carpets. Sprinkle on carpets and let sit for 15 minutes before vacuuming. Try adding cinnamon!

    • Use baking soda to clean the inside of porcelain cups. Just wet the inside, pour some in the bottom, and scrub! Gets coffee and tea stains right out!

    • Here’s a good one to know! To relieve symptoms of a UTI (and prevent future recurrences), fix yourself a baking soda cocktail. At the first sign of symptoms, mix half a teaspoon of baking soda in an eight-ounce glass of water and drink it. The baking soda raises the pH of irritating, acidic urine.

    • Brighten your manicure by scrubbing nails and cuticles with a paste of 3 parts Baking Soda to 1 part water. Rub in a gentle, circular motion over hands and fingers to exfoliate and smooth. Rinse clean with warm water and apply polish as usual.

    • To absorb carpet spills…blot up the area, spray with water, and shake on baking soda. It will help lift the stain, and once it dries, you simply vacuum it up.

    • Make sachets and stick in stinky gym shoes!

    • To remove burned on food from a pan, simmer water and baking soda in it. Most of the food will become soft and then can be removed easily.

    Treat Skin Irritations
Drop an eggshell into a small container of apple cider vinegar and let it soak for a couple of days. Dab the mixture on minor skin irritations or on itchy skinPowerful Cleaner
Mix Ground eggshells with a little soapy water for a powerful clean. It’s almost impossible to get a scrub brush down the narrow neck of a thermos.Clean it by first by rinsing with hot water. Then add some crushed egg shells, fill 1/2 way with water, and shake. Rinse well

    Kitchen Tips and Tricks

    Kitchen Tips and Tricks
    Fruit & Veggie Wash
Purchase a small spray bottle, and then fill it with one cup of water, one tablespoon of fresh lemon juice, and one tablespoon of baking soda. Shake gently to mix it together (it will bubble and fizz a bit).
    Muffin Pan Citrus Cubes
This is a fabulous idea for a water or sangria pitcher! A muffin pan gives you much larger cubes, making the ice last much longer. This also looks beautiful with the whole lemon slices in there. You could also do this with oranges; maybe even throw in some mint or sliced strawberries!
     Make Crystal Clear Ice
The process of boiling filtered water eliminates dissolved air and decompresses minerals in the water. That’s way too much science for me, but this would make for pretty cubes, especially if you’re freezing them with fruit for a water pitcher.
    Opening Jars With Ease
There’s always that one jar that pisses you off! I usually just hand it over to the husband, but when you need a little bit of assistance, just put on a rubber kitchen glove, or place a thick rubber band around the lid. The rubber gives you just the right amount of grip to get the job done without tearing a muscle
Make Your Honey Like New Again
Have you ever thrown out crystallized honey because you thought it couldn’t be saved?   But it turns out the crystallization of honey is natural and not harmful. You can revive your little honey bear by placing it in a pot of hot water to warm it up. It will stay soft for a long time!
Save Your Cake And Eat It, Too
If you’ve ever taken leftover cake home and went to eat it later, it’s just not the same .The edges are always stale and crumbly after sitting out. Next time, place a few pieces of bread on the outer edges to keep it soft and moist!
     Wooden Spoon Trick
Place a wooden spoon over boiling water to keep it from boiling over. There is a lot of science behind this, but the easiest way to explain why this works is because the spoon pops a lot of the bubbles once they come into contact with it, and it also absorbs some of the moisture. Apparently, metal spoons don’t work because they heat up too fast. It’s worth a try!
    Peel Ginger With A Spoon?
That skin isn’t as tough as it looks; The edge of the spoon takes it off with very little effort (even in all of the little crevices and bumps). Leave your knife in the drawer and use a spoon!
The Best Way To Chill Wine
Frozen grapes  are  fantastic little cubes for keeping your wine chilled without watering it down. You can also plop one or two in a glass of red wine that has been kept at a room temperature that is too warm.
    Rolling Citrus Fruit
If you roll while applying a bit of pressure to your citrus fruits (lemons, limes, oranges, etc.), you will get so much more of that yummy juice.

    Keep Lettuce Fresh Longer
Drape a paper napkin over the top of a bowl of salad and cover the bowl with plastic wrap to keep it fresh for a week. The dry paper towel absorbs moisture from the lettuce, which is one of the main reasons why it wilts and turns soggy so fast. It’s also important to get the lettuce as dry as possible before storing in the first place.
    Travel Cup
This stuff works like magic! Stretch Press’n Seal over any cup to make it a little more kid friendly. Poke a straw through the middle and you’ve got your very own homemade travel cup.
Store Ice Cream In A Bag
A plastic freezer bag keeps the cold air from making your ice cream rock hard. If you like straight spoons and soft ice cream, this trick is worth the extra step! Try to push out as much air out of the bag as you can before putting it in the freezer.

The Smart Way To Reheat Pasta
Instead of stirring your pasta several times in between the cook time in your microwave, leave a small circle empty in the middle of your plate so that the pasta will cook more evenly.
    Grate Cold Butter
Your stick of butter has to be close to frozen for it to work, and you must work fast to keep it from melting, but the grated butter is perfect for adding to flour before baking biscuits, scones, muffins, etc.. It also makes the butter melt much faster, so if your butter is too cold to spread, consider grating it first and then topping toast, veggies, or a baked potato!

    2. The crackers drill would start weeks before Diwali.

    3. Talking about crackers, remember pledging not to burst crackers in the school assembly?

    4. And going to buy crackers with our dads was a big deal.

    5. Diwali meant loads of holidays from school and that was the best part

    6. People visiting your home a week before the festival would mark the onset of the festivities.

    8. It meant the onset of the cards season.

    9. Getting your hands on new clothes for the festival was a really big deal.

    12. Our mothers would create beautiful rangolis.

    13. Even puja was a grand feast.

    14. It was the perfect occasion for the entire family         photographs

    • Alternatively, you can mix one teaspoon of ground ginger in one and a half cups of water and take one tablespoon of this mixture at bedtime.
    • Cut one inch of ginger into small pieces and add it to a pot of boiling water. Let it steep for five minutes, allow it to cool down and then drink it.
    • To detoxify your lungs, prepare a fenugreek decoction by boiling one tablespoon of fenugreek seeds in a cup of water and mixing one teaspoon each of ginger juice and honey in it. Drink this solution every morning and evening.
    • You can also eat raw ginger mixed with salt.

    2. Mustard Oil

    • When having an asthma attack, massaging with mustard oil will help clear the respiratory passages and restore normal breathing.
      1. Heat some mustard oil with a little camphor.
      2. Transfer it in a bowl and when it is comfortably warm, gently rub it on the chest and upper back and massage.
      3. Do this several times a day until the symptoms subside.
